What Koodo Reader is for
Koodo Reader manages unencrypted ebooks across desktop, mobile and web environments. It supports formats such as EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW3, FB2, comic archives, Markdown and DOCX, with local libraries, layout, search, annotations and synchronization extensions.
Version and platform packages
Version 2.4.3 is the current stable release. Windows packages distinguish x64, x86 and ARM64, macOS packages distinguish Intel and Apple silicon, Linux offers DEB, RPM, Snap and AppImage formats, and Android uses APK variants. iOS and web storage follow their own platform model.
Local-first, sync and online boundaries
Local reading does not require an account, but update checks, cloud sync, remote AI, translation and third-party note services can make network requests. A web library that depends on browser cache can be cleared by the browser or system, so important books and annotations need independent backups. The core program uses AGPL-3.0-only; hosted services and storage have separate terms.

Usage tips
- Device time, duplicate filenames and provider rename rules can create conflicts or duplicate libraries during sync.
- Online AI, translation, encyclopedia and third-party note export can send selected text or annotations to another service; keep sensitive content local.
- Reading-position sync depends on book identifiers and paths, so replacing a file with another edition may not preserve the same location.
Troubleshooting and uninstall
What should I do after sync creates duplicate books or loses a position?
Pause synchronization everywhere, export local data from each device and compare timestamps. Select a trusted primary copy before resuming instead of repeatedly overwriting a conflict.
Why can I not find a file after cloud-drive sync?
Check whether the provider appended an extension or changed the filename, copy the cloud file before renaming it and avoid deleting the only remaining copy.
