MarkText 0.20.0 RC installation, writing and migration guide
Install the candidate release in a copy of the writing directory, verify Markdown, images, formulas and diagrams, then put the stable document directory under versioned backup.
Before you start
- Select the Windows, macOS or Linux package and prepare a test document directory with an independent backup.
- Copy important documents first and record the editor version, image layout and extensions used by the current workflow.

Troubleshooting and uninstall
Why do images disappear after moving the document?
Check relative paths, filename case and whether the attachment directory moved with the Markdown file. Repair links on a copy before applying a batch change.
Why do formulas or diagrams appear as plain text?
Check syntax fences and the corresponding extension setting, then test a minimal sample. Keep the source and perform the final export in a known-good environment.
