MindMac is a native macOS multi-model AI client that connects to OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, OpenRouter, compatible endpoints and local model services.

MindMac gives Mac users one native workspace for multiple cloud providers and local model services. Sessions, folders, prompts, inline calls, shortcuts, usage estimates and provider settings are managed in the same client. It is a client rather than a model, so answer quality, cost and data movement depend on the selected provider or local endpoint.

Version 1.9.28 targets macOS 13 or later and provides Intel and Apple Silicon packages. The free mode, paid license, device count and update period are commercial terms. A public issue tracker or compatible API does not make the desktop application open source.
API keys and data paths
Keys may be stored in the macOS Keychain, but prompts still go to the chosen provider when a cloud endpoint is selected. Troubleshooting and uninstall
Why is a key rejected after it was added?
Check the provider, key type, project permissions, balance and model identifier. A web subscription does not necessarily include API access, and a proxy can change the endpoint being reached.
Why does inline mode do nothing?
Check macOS accessibility permission, shortcut conflicts and the excluded-app list. Grant only the required permission instead of broad disk access.
- Export sessions and rotate keysSave needed prompts and conversations, revoke or rotate API keys and disable any paid device authorization that should no longer remain.
- Remove the app and system permissionsDelete the application, then review Keychain entries, accessibility access, startup items and caches. Local model services and files need separate cleanup.

Does MindMac require a paid license?
A limited free mode and paid license may coexist. Device count, feature limits and update terms should be checked at the time of purchase.
Can a ChatGPT subscription be used as an API key?
Chat subscriptions and provider APIs are usually separate products and billing paths. Use the credential type required by the selected provider.
Does storing a key in Keychain keep prompts local?
No. Key storage and prompt routing are separate. A cloud provider still receives prompts when its endpoint is selected.
What should be checked before inline use?
Review accessibility permissions, excluded applications, shortcut behavior and whether text is sent to a cloud model or local endpoint.
