Metadata and file safety

Why are non-Latin tags garbled after saving?

Check the source tag version, text encoding and player support with a backup copy, then compare ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4 or Unicode settings without repeatedly overwriting the only file.

How do I avoid duplicate filenames during a batch rename?

Add disc number, track number or another unique field to the template, preview the result and write to a new directory before replacing the old structure.
