What Maccy does
Maccy keeps a searchable local clipboard history and lets users preview, pin and paste text or images. Version 2.7.0 adds image and text previews, image OCR and color previews, so clipboard items can contain more data than plain text.
System and permission boundaries
Version 2.7.0 requires macOS Sonoma 14 or later. Ordinary history lookup can remain separate from automatic paste; automatic paste requires macOS Accessibility permission because the application must control keyboard input in the foreground app.

Usage tips
- Pinned items survive an ordinary history cleanup, so a complete cleanup needs a separate check for pinned entries.
- Universal Clipboard can bring content from another Apple device. Add the remote clipboard type to exclusions or pause recording when that data should stay out of local history.
- The project warns about impersonation sites. Use a trusted repository, package manager or known update path for future versions.
Troubleshooting and uninstall
Why does a shortcut fail inside a password field?
macOS may block character-producing shortcuts in secure input fields. Use a shortcut that does not generate ordinary characters and keep the system secure-input protection enabled.
How do I stop history from receiving Universal Clipboard items?
Exclude the remote clipboard type, copy a non-sensitive test value and verify the result. You can also pause all recording while handling that data.
